Universal towbar for vehicles imported from the USA with a 2' (51x51mm) square towbar socket (receiver)

This towbar adapter for US vehicles is fitted with two rows of holes to allow the towbar to be adjusted to any height. The towbar has a flange towball (bolted on). It is available in three versions:

with two-bolt flange ball (black or silver version)
with four-bolt flange ball (black)

What is the correct towbar height?

A towbar ballhead that is too high or too low is a nightmare not only for drivers of off-road vehicles with raised suspensions, but also for drivers of commercial vehicles.

According to European standards, the centre of the towball should be between 350 and 420 mm from the ground. If the centre of the towbar ball is outside this range, several problems can occur, such as

Damage to the towbar,
Damage to the ballhead of towbar
Damage to the trailer suspension

This adapter has been tested and has European ECE approval.

The centre of the towball should be 350-420mm from the ground. Before purchasing a US adapter, measure the distance from the ground to the centre of the square profile at the rear of the vehicle (receiver) and select the appropriate towbar. This towbar adapter is designed for vehicles with a receiver height of 270-396 mm.

The American vehicle towbar adapter can be used to transport trailers, trailer hitch ball racks, boxes, hunting baskets and all other towbar mounted accessories, including those with AL-KO track stabiliser hitches.

The towbar locks into the socket with a safety pin, allowing the towbar adapter to be fitted and removed quickly.
